Regular Band Parents Meeting

June 4, 2009

 

Chris Garcia welcomed everyone and called the meeting to order.

 

Everyone read the Secretary’s Report. Alan Kemper made motion to accept and Rhonda Smith second the motion.

 

Treasurers Report:

Chris went over the treasurer’s report. Our income was short $2,500. We had to take from the school funds.

 

Pit & Transportation:

We are in good shape. We just need drivers with CDL’s. Guard needs the 2 cubes.

 

Concessions:

Not much going on.

 

Pageants:

No-Till is July 18th

No more pageants until January.

 

M.H.S. Band:

Music days: June 23rd & June 25th 1:00 – 5:00 pm

1st penny collection is July 9th

Music Day: July 9th 1:00 – 5:00 pm, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Band Bowl

Band Camp: July 20th – 24 & 27th – 31st

Pot luck will be on Thursday 30th

 

We need 4 people on front ensemble

 

M.M.S. Band:

Not much going on. We have 39 sixth graders.

 

Old Business:

We need to get students to the meetings

Band Banquet will be moved to the Methodist Church next year.

 

New Business:

The end of June and first of July is the Fireworks Stand

We will need volunteers for 10 days, 24 hours per day.

Candy Bar sales will be in July.

We will sell fruit in October and deliver by Thanksgiving.

We borrowed money for uniforms – they should be paid off in 2 years but our goal is to pay them off this year.

Chris went over the Band Parents Projected Budget for the 2009-2010 School year. Lyn McCoy made motion to accept and Rhonda Smith 2nd the motion.

 

Keith Brown went over his Projected Budget for the 2009-2010 School year.

 

Brett Tidwell explained the Band Bowl

 

ACES Course is a team building course that some of the kids would like to attend.

 

Juniors & Seniors that took the ACT test 4 of the top 6 scorers are in band.
