Regular Band Parents Meeting

January 10, 2008

Chris Garcia called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone.

Mr. Brown read a letter from a 10^th grader about the positive side of band.

Sherrie Hines gave a report on the State Competition for those who weren’t there or the parents of Middle School band students.

Steve Smith talked about the bike ride for this summer that he and Tim Hayes will head up.

Cindy Mayo said she is always in need of volunteers in concessions.

M.H.S. Update:

Jazz and Concert bands are up and running.

Winter Guard is also up and running

            January 19 & 20 – Field Day @ Lawrenceburg, TN

February 23 – Independence HS

March 8 & 9 – Clarksville, TN

March 29 – Smyrna

April 5 – SCGC Championships @ Vanderbilt University

An anonymous donor bought a new mat for Winter Guard it should be in Monday, January 14^th.

M.M.S. Update:

Mr. Reeves said that they are still learning and group band pictures will be tomorrow.  Color Guard is excited about practice.

Snowflake Pageant to be held January 26^th at M.H.S.

Sweetheart Pageant to be held February 9^th at M.H.S.

Miss Milan High Pageant to be held March 15^th at M.M.S. ?

Jr. Mr. & Miss Gibson Co to be held April 12^th at M.H.S.
